- October 1 1799: Thomas McKean, the governor of Pennsylvania, sends sixteen men to explore an uncharted forest as a location for a new town, to be called Windhallow.
- October 7 1799: The men begin their six-day exploration of and stay in the forest.
- October 11 1799: Two men of the company are killed by the Hellborn. Their companions assume (but do not believe) they have been killed by wolves.
- Friday, October 13 1799: The remaining fourteen men have their last experience with the Hellborn. The other two have already been killed.
- October 19 1799: Thirteen bodies are discovered, mutilated, just over a mile inside the treeline. They are mutilated, partially eaten, and almost all are missing limbs. One lacks a head. Another's heart has been torn to pieces.
- October 31 1799: McKean sends men after the other three explorers. They discover the entrails of those men strewn across the ground and trees along the forest's edge. Red letters in the snow command LEAVE. There are no tracks.
- November 8 1799: The Pennsylvania Congress pass the Deadwood Act, which accomplishes four things: no roads will be built within one mile of the forest; no one will be allowed to settle in the forest; no one will own any part of the forest save the government of Pennsylvania; and no one will discuss the reasons behind the Deadwood Act upon penalty of imprisonment. The vote is unanimous.
- August-October 1800: Nearly every animal in the Deadwood leaves: first the prey, out of vulnerability, then the predators, out of fear of starvation and of the Hellborn.
- Friday, October 13 1800: Two hunters in the Deadwood are torn apart by the Hellborn.
- October 31 1800: Every living thing left in the forest (at this point, not much) is slaughtered. Hundreds of trees are shredded or knocked down and spattered with gore.
- November 1800-November 2000: The forest is deserted. The black presence there stirs, out of sight and out of mind.
- November 2000-May 2002: Several hundred deer, elk, foxes, wolves, and small animals flee human and animal hunters and gradually migrate to the Deadwood despite the sense of evil that envelops it.
- June 2002: Our game begins.
This is a fresh and original wolf roleplay you will not find anywhere else! We are just starting out so all ranks are open.
